Google Censorship - Again
During the last several years it has been more and more obvious that the MSM has not been telling the truth. The result? They are declining. Some are even struglling for survival. In my opion - good riddance. If they can't tell the truth, then they're no better than the National Enquirer. I, personally, have intentionally avoided ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN news both through traditional media and online.
Speaking of online news, an important reason for the decline of traditional media is the widespread availability and immediacy of the Internet has allowed it to usurp print and TV. A poll by Zogby even showed that many people trust the Internet much more than they trust the MSM. This isn't surprising, since it is seems to be more difficult to censor Internet activity, and it is easier to find a much wider spectrum of opinion and reporting on the Internet than through traditional media channels.
Unfortunately, there are ways to censor the Internet particularly through search engine results - and it seems that Google is at at the forefront - again. Remember a few years ago when they were cited as helping the Chinese government censor search engine results? Now the Atlas Shrugs blog has been censored by Google for daring to speak out about the Obama Citizenship issue. In other words, Google is filling the role of the left-leaning MSM in the sphere of Internet Search Engines.
This is unacceptable. Maybe if people were to stop using Google Search, Google might take notice.

Silence of the Liberals
Now I don't pay that much attention to the liberal gutterblogs, but fortunately others do. Environmental Republican, took the time to not only look through them, but also to see what they had to say about the Mumbai attacks. It appears that liberals are practically silent on the attacks by the Muslim Terrorists.
What's the matter... cat got their tongues? Not willing to discuss how their islamo-fascist brothers are butchering innocent people yet again?
Not willing to admit that, after all, Bush actually was telling the truth about how terrorists need to hunted down and shot like the rabid dogs that they are?
What's really curious to me, however, is not just that liberals are silent, but that the Obamessiah is also strangely quiet. C'mon, Hussein, nothing to say? Why do you have have that deer-in-the-headlights look on your face? You ran for President and "won". You're the one that's gonna have to step up to the plate starting January 20. Isn't this the time that you're supposed to start looking more and more presidential and less like a dog running away with its tail between its legs?

Re: Hope and Change
It's not gonna happen.
Yet again, the Democrats have shafted us. After winning the election based on empty promises of "Hope" and "Change" and it looks like all we're going to get is more of the same kind of corruption and double-talk that we always get from Democrat leaders.
Democrats don't care about us. Maybe during an election year, they will come out and blow smoke about how they are our champion and how they're going to stick up for us. But after they get their positions of power, we no longer matter to them.
You don't believe me? Just take a look at what Hussein has done so far (and he's not even been sworn in yet). He promised that he will bring Change to Washington. But what does he do? He brings back the old Clinton crowd - a bunch of scandal-tainted insiders. What kind of change is that?
The Democrats don't care about us. They never have and they never will. Except, of course, during an election year.
Get used to it. And next time... vote for someone worth voting for.

Happy Thanksgiving
May you, your family and friends continue to receive God's richest blessings today and always.
As we look back on our lives and remember our blessings, let us also remember the blessings of freedom.
One Thanksgiving story that is new to me this year is the one told by Rush Limbaugh (apparently every year) to remind people of the true story behind the original Thanksgiving.
"The Lord helps those who help themselves." Gee, that almost sounds capitalistic.

Obama's cabinet picks very confusing...
After spending over a year campaigning on the vacuous slogans of "Hope" and "Change", it appears that Hussein's slogan should have been "No Hope for Change."
First he sets off by appointing a bunch of Clintonites. This confused me severely. How come he bashes the Clintons in general and Hillary specifically throughout the campaign, then suddenly appoints a bunch of zombies from a presidency widely noted for its corruption and ethics violations?
Then Hussein announces that he is nominating several fiscal conservatives for top financial posts.
And now Hussein announces his Secretary of Defense pick: Robert Gates. Ummm.... Not that I mind this particular pick, but wasn't McCain supposed to be Bush's 3rd term?
Could it be that this is all a devious plot from the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy to trick liberals into voting for a sheep in wolf's clothing?
Maybe. I'm more inclined to believe that this is actually a bunch of smoke and mirrors to hide Hussein's real intent.
For now, though, thanks for keeping Bush's military policies and Reagan's fiscal conservatism for a little longer. I just hope it lasts.

Obligatory "Who is Obama?" Post
I find it a bit disturbing that in a large number of blogs, I keep seeing posts titled "Who is Obama?" How is it that America has elected someone that we don't even know?
Even the MSM are starting to admit that they don't know who this empty suit really is.
What's up with that? This is totally unacceptable, especially since it was the MSM that was trying so hard to get the country to elect this guy. How can they want us to elect him when they don't know themselves who he is?
Is it that they don't want to take the time to do some serious digging? Why not? Aren't they the press? Isn't it their job to do this kind of research?
After spending millions of dollars on a campaign that lasted more than a year, including a half-hour infomercial dedicated solely to the Obamessiah, and people are still asking who he is.
One question that coes to mind on this is this one: Is Hussein concealing who he is on purpse? In his book, Audacity of Hope, page 11, Hussein unconsciously affirms that this is intentional:
In other words, he lets people think that he is in favor of whatever they want him to be in favor of, and ran his campaign more on personality than substance and issues. So yes, he himself wants you to be in the dark as to who he really is.
And that, in itself, reveals more about him than he realizes.

Commentary on Zogby Media Bias Poll
Zogby recently released this report:
New Poll by IFC & Zogby Reveals Americans Overwhelmingly Distrust the News Media
If the American people distrust the media so much, why can't the Media see this and change their behavior?
But a more important question that I have to ask is this: If we distrust the media so much, why do we continue to go to them for our news? Maybe part of the answer to this explains the fact that so many people are moving from ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN to Fox for their news.
I strongly urge the MSM to stop being biased. Start telling the truth for a change. We don't want you to feed us your opinions. We want the truth so we can form our own opinions. In your reporting you have failed miserably and have degraded yourselves to the level of the National Enquirer, except that you still pretend that you're telling us the truth.

More MSM Slams
The Mainstream Media (MSM) is getting hammered by numerous individuals (including yours truly) who are tired of MSM lies. The MSM deserves all of their problems, too, because they are heavily biased.
The Bulletin published an essay titled How Mainstream Media Destroys Democracy, What To Do About It yesterday by Herb Denenberg. It makes for excellent reading. Here's a quote:
One of the points made in the article about what to do about the problem was to stop subscribing to and advertising with MSM companies. Although I think that this would work under normal circumstances, with the Dumbocrats talking about bringing back the (un)Fairness Doctrine, and scrambling to bail out other industries, I wouldn't be surprised if Hussein were to argue for some sort of bail out for the MSM.

In my view, it's not the mainstream newspapers' complacency and condescension that caused the loss of trust and confidence; it's their fundamental dishonesty and failure to deliver the fair and balanced reporting and information the public wants. The public doesn't want to read Pravda or the writing, raving and ranting of a Joseph Goebbels-type that tells the big lie to make his points. That's where we are, and that's what is dooming the mainstream media.

Today's Topic: Global Warming; or The Wolf that Never Showed Up
Watching Al Gore and his minions constantly harping on about how the Earth is warming and the climate is changing because of the human impact, always brings to my mind the Chicken Little story. "The Sky Is Falling! The Sky Is Falling!"
Yet for all the so-called evidence that the planet is experiencing a long-term heat wave, it seems that it's only a minority of environmental scientists who support the Global Warming/Climate Change (GW/CC) theory. While it's natural that not all scientists will agree on every controversial topic out there (have you ever tried to get scientists to agree on how evolution happened?), the fact that there are so many scientists and studies that flat out reject the entire GW/CC idea should give you pause.
Obligatory Anti-MSM dig: Is the MSM listening to any of this? Do you think that they'll start reporting the truth for a change?
One of the tools used to try to prove GW/CC is computer modelling. However, this is a double-edged sword, because computer models depend on the data and logic that is put into them. Alternate models have debunked global warming claims. There's an old saying among computer geeks: "Garbage In, Garbage Out". If you feed useless data into a computer, you'll get useless results. So you can't really rely on computer models anyway.
This month (Nov 2008), Cornell University published a study where they show how GW/CC predictions are way overestimated and that the CO2 emissions issue is... a non-issue.
The Telegraph, a british newspaper, published a story titled The world has never seen such freezing heat where they ridicule the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) claim that October 2008 was the hottest October on record - in spite of record low temperatures being recorded world-wide. It turns out that significant portions of the GISS data were simply carried over from September. Not only that, but there is an entire web site dedicated to showing that not only is the earth not getting warmer, it's actually getting colder.
There are numerous scientific studies available that contradict Al Gore and his GW/CC cabal. For just a small sampling of the latest studies, I suggest you browse through the two-web-page series on the US Senate Web Site: Part 1 and Part 2. Here's a sample of article titles: The Great Global Warming Blunder: How Mother Nature Fooled the World's Top Climate Scientists; UK Astrophysicist: Global Warming Theory has 'failed consistently and dramatically'; Arctic Sea Ice Extent: In October 2008, Fastest Ever Growth; 'Life-long liberal Democrat' Meteorologist rejects 'fear mongering clap-trap about human-caused global warming'; and so on. It's enough to make Al Gore weep.
So, in the end, what has Al Gore really achieved? More unneeded government interference.
Looking at all the foolish antics of the GW/CC crowd, another children's story comes to mind: The boy who cried "Wolf!". Al Gore has been crying "Wolf!" for so long that nobody is listening any more. Unlike in the story, however, Al Gore's wolf will never show up.

Liberal Media Bias - Another Opinion
Or should I say, rant?
I've recently run across the Drinking With Bob web site and have enjoyed watching some of his rants. Curiously enough, he actually has not one, not two, but THREE entire rants (if not more) just on the topic of liberal media bias (one of our favorite pet peeves).
The Mainstream Media is a Joke
The Mainstream Media think you're stupid
and HowObamaGotElected.com rant This rant is in reference to the Zogby post-election poll that is reported on at the HowObamaGotElected.com web site.
All three are definitely worth watching (if you can stand ranting). Just make sure and turn the volume down on your speakers.

Yet Another Story that will NEVER Appear in MSM
C'mon you leftist MSM libtards! If the Secret Ballot is good enough for Democrats in Congress (supposedly a public institution), why shouldn't workers be allowed a Secret Ballot when participating in Union Elections?
If Democrats are the party of the workers, why are they shafting workers BIG TIME?
Can you spell Double-Standards?
Yes, that's correct: D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T

No Bailout. Absolutely Not.
I don't agree with Mitt Romney on everything, but he wrote an editorial in the New York Times that I think he did a very good job with. Although he doesn't quite say "Go Stuff Yourselves" to Detroit, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" isn't too far off that mark.
And why not? The free market is based on the idea that if a business does well, they stay in business and if they make mistakes, they go into bankruptcy. What makes Detroit so special that this principle shouldn't apply to them too? Why shouldn't the automakers be required to clean up their own messes?
Plus, why should Americans be required to bail out these highly inefficient companies when they don't even know the real reasons for their own failure? They're blaming the credit crisis, when they fly to Washington in style, pay UAW workers $130,000 per year in wages and benefits, and generally mismanage the entire affair.
And when a scumball like Barney Frank admits that the companies will need much more than just the $25B they're asking for, it's no wonder they're having a hard time getting any support in Congress. Even the next crop of incoming legislators aren't too happy with the bailout.
And don't even get me started on the UAW criminals. After all, the problem is not entirely due to the Big 3 Automakers' mismanagement. The UAW is getting way too much money and needs to be reined in. In fact, the more you look at how much the UAW parasites are siphoning off to line their own pockets, the more you realize that this isn't so much an Auto Bailout as a Union Payoff.

A New Holiday
Zombie Time has declared November 22 to be Victory in Iraq Day. Did the President announce this as a new holiday? No. Did Congress authorize VI Day? No.
But that doesn't mean we can't celabrate!

I would like to congratulate the Iraqis on taking control of your country so that you can live in peace.

The Liberal-biased Media and our Raison d'Etre
One of the reasons for starting this blog and resource center was because we perceive a definite left-bias in the mainstream media (MSM). Numerous polls and studies have verified this bias, not only that it exists, but also that it is seen to exist by the general population.
As an example of the extreme media bias, on February 2, 2007, Newsweek's Evan Thomas said "our job is to bash the President. That’s what we do." But on November 6, 2008, NBC's Chris Matthews said "I want to do everything I can to make this ... new presidency work.... it is my job." So which is it? To bash the president, or to make the presidency work?
Obviously, the implication is that it's the media's job to bash the president as long as it's the "wrong" president, but if they have the "right" president, then it's their job to make the presidency work.
To us, this is unacceptable. We want a fair and balanced media that reports on all sides of the story, not just the side they want everybody to see.
In order to remedy that imbalance, our purpose is to find and present "the rest of the story". We want to find resources in the media and on the web that provide the opposing viewpoint.
Now it might be argued that we, ourselves, are being biased, and therefore our efforts are invalid. Although it is quite possibly true that by focusing on the untold stories, we are being biased, but only from a sense that we are biased in favor of what people aren't hearing. The liberals have already told their story over and over and over, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. So we do not feel it necessary to repeat their side since they have already done such a nauseatingly efficient job of doing so. If anyone feels that we should be balanced, then we will do so as soon as MSM starts being fair and balanced.
After all, the MSM is so biased, that we need a huge dose of reality to keep us on an even keel.
When you want to balance a scale, you don't put the counterweight at the scale's balance point, but at side opposite from the weight.
