Universal Health Care is not what most people think it is. For one thing: it's not free. Someone has to pay for it, and that someone is going to be you.
And you're going to have to pay more for it than what you could pay now for private health care insurance that covers much more.
When I was talking with my brother-in-law in Canada about Zero's plan to introduce "Universal Health Care" here in the USA, his response was "If that happens, then where am I going to be able to go to get decent health care?"
That's right... when he needs normal health care, he doesn't go to his local Canadian doctor. He travels four hours each way to a doctor in the USA and pays full price. Oh, and in case you think that it's because he lives in a remote area where there aren't many doctors, think again. He lives in Toronto.
Apparently he's not the only one who thinks Canada's "Health Care" sucks. Private Health Care in Canada is a Booming Business according to FoxNews.
And people keep trying to tell me that Canada's "Universal Health Care" system is such a wonderful thing. Yeah, right.

New Haven Firefighters Win
As many have already reported, the firefighters from New Haven have won their appeal of their discrimination lawsuit at the US Supreme Court.
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I am happy for the firefighters. They were clearly discriminated against based on their race. The lower courts that ruled against them were clearly out of line in their judgments.
On the other hand, this probably will not derail Sotomayor's chances for getting on the Supreme Court. And that's the bad news. She is definitely incompetent as a judge - 60% of cases from her courtroom that were appealed to higher courts were overturned. Not only that, but among other justices that are her peers, she has a poor reputation.
So, while I applaud this common-sense ruling in favor of the firefighters, I am not hopeful that Sotomayor's incompetence will prevent her from being appointed to the highest court. She obviously has no business being a judge at all. But then, again, she's being appointed by someone who has no business being President.

You pay money to ride in a yacht hoping that the Pirates will attack you. But you have guns and ammunition to fight back. Who says that Capitalism doesn't work?

American Embassies being Asked to Sell Dollars?
I saw this article and found it rather alarming (particularly, starting around paragraph 7). Rather harsh if you ask me. But is the author being overly paranoid, or is this a realistic scenario?

I've seen it. Many people around the country are noticing it. What is it? You walk into a gun store and see very little available for sale, particularly ammunition. And it's not because manufacturers are cutting back on production or because of the economy.
Nope... gun and ammunition sales are booming. People are buying faster than the factories can produce. It's probably the biggest growth industry in the USA right now.
But why? I've seen a lot of commentary on this topic. But an article by Scott Wagner gives a better summary than any I have read.

Government Run Healthcare? Already a Failure
For those who continue to think that the government might suddenly buck all trends and magically transform itself into an organization capable of not running some program into the ground due to waste, inefficiency and corruption, think again.
The big push these days is for government-sponsored health care. Well, guess what, they're already involved and it's already a big failure. For a number of years now, the Veterans Administration has been responsible for handling the healthcare needs of military veterans. But, as with everything the government does, they're screwing it up, big time.
Personally, I've seen government-run healthcare up close and personal in Europe and once you look beneath the veneer, it's not as great as its proponents say it is. And if it comes to America, it's definitely not going to come close to being as wonderful as people are hoping. In fact, with government-run health care in the United States, you can guarantee that our health care will get worse.
Count on it.
Because the government has already proved itself to be a failure.

Where's Waldo?
Throughout the Iran crisis, one thing that you could count on from Zero is that among the people speaking out strongly in favor of the people of Iran, he is nowhere to be found. Sure, he made a few half-hearted whimpers, but by and large he's been paying more attention to his ice cream cones than to the plight of the Iranians. "Where's Waldo?" I keep asking myself.
Of course, there's another Waldo that's MIA in this mess as well... none other than the United Nations. But weren't they supposed to be the grand supporters of the downtrodden peoples of the world? Aren't they supposed to lend their support to people in need across the globe? Well, supposedly that's what they're for, but in reality, the UN is nothing more than a muslim-friendly communist front organization. They really couldn't care less about the people of Iran. No wonder they're nowhere to be found. Yet another Waldo to search for.

Iran
First of all, I would like to offer a tribute of rememberance to Neda. Any death of a young person, whose life is full of promise is a tragedy. That she was brutally murdered by the very government that was supposed be representing her makes her death and the deaths of the many others murdered in Iran particularly saddening. A thank you note from Lech Walesa to Ronald Reagan. The Iranians are watching what Obama is saying about them. They may not want the USA to interfere in their revolution, but they are interested to see if Obama will show how much he values freedom. So far he is failing the Iranians miserably.
It's almost as if he's saying, "I'm going to hold a Press Worship Festival tomorrow... I need time to load my latest surrender statement on the Teleprompter."
If anything, there is one good side-effect of the events unfolding in Iran: the Iranian government is falling behind in their payments to terrorist groups.

My Thoughts on Iran and our Absentee President
For quite a while, BHO has been virtually silent regarding the events unfolding in Iran. Looking through many news and blog postings, it seems that quite a few people have noticed this.
But why would he do such a thing? Isn't he the one supposed to be answering the 3am call and then taking action?
He finally did issue a statement "warning" the Iranian government against oppression. But he also issued statements to North Korea. So, basically, he's still done nothing at all. He hasn't given any indication whatsoever that he supports the people of Iran.
I keep asking myself, "why?"
The only answer I can come up with is that he wants to see which way the wind is blowing before making a firm statement. That way, when he has a pretty good idea who's going to come out ahead, he can later say that he supported that side.

I've returned from my trip to Poland and am getting back into the swing of things. There's so much going on, especially over in Iran.

I've long since ceased to be surprised when proof comes out that Zero lied about some topic or other. Rather, what surprises me is the depths of the lies. In this case, it turns out that he had ties to the Terrorist Bill Ayers much further back than he originally reported. It has come out that the link goes all the way back to grade school when Zero was only 11 years old.
The 'transparent' president blocks access to basic information, like who visited the White House. What's he hiding this time? Why would it be so important to him that he prevent people from knowing who visited him? Of course, this isn't the first bit of information that he's tried to keep under wraps.
And Zero's actions continue to get worse and worse... His War on Watchdogs Escalates. How can this guy promise a transparent government when he interferes with the very individuals who have been tasked with preventing government waste and corruption?
Back at the AMA meeting, Zero claimed that single-payer health care works in other countries. When his spokesman was questioned about it later, the claim was confirmed, but they just weren't sure which countries it worked in. From my experience with single-payer health care across three different countries, I can say for sure that it doesn't work in any of those I have had experience with. Of course, Zero's wife was employed at a hospital, so you might want to look at her experiences at that hospital to get an indication of what exactly Zero means by "quality" health care. It's not pretty.
Did No One Ever Teach Barack Obama To Wash His Hands?
In positive news, more and more people appear to be waking up to the fact that Obama is a Political Virgin. Could he end up being a one-term president? I certainly hope so.

With all the stuff going on in Iran, I find it interesting that the muslim clerics there can't even agree amongst themselves. One of them is now claiming that the current regime is "illegitimate". I wonder how long before he is made to quietly disappear.

Interesting new twist on an old topic: a reporter has uncovered a potential Al Qaeda link to the 1995 Oklahoma Bombing and other events that Billy Jeff seems to want to keep hidden.
Christians being denied their Constitutional Rights by Dearborn, Michigan. If this cancer is not stopped in Dearborn, it will spread.
And finally, the Pentagon apparently thinks that I am a 'low-level terrorist' because I want the government to be answerable to the people like the founders intended. Is it really coming to this? Is the government really so focused on keeping its own power that they have resorted to branding normal people as 'low-level terrorists'? If so, then God help us all.

Europe Moving to the Right?
Apparently the Europeans saw how Zero is destroying America and are waking up to the fact that their own Socialist parties are doing the same thing to them. Their latest election results showed a significant shift away from their Socialist parties and towards the right-leaning parties. FoxNews is also reporting that the left-leaning parties were severely punished.
Currently I'm on vacation in Poland. From conversations with people here, I'm seeing a definite realization that Zero isn't what he made himself out to be.

Senate and Supreme Court refuse admission to people because they were wearing 'Jesus' T-Shirts. Meanwhile, those same organizations allowed entrance to people wearing Obama and Islam T-Shirts.
Zero's "Open Government Dialog" web site: Not so open after all. Not that I'm surprised in the least. Of course, what's not really important is the Birth Certificate itself. Rather, the important issue is Zero's citizenship problems.

Both killings are wrong. What's worse is that the MSM continues to praise the victim who happens to be a mass murderer yet ignore the victim who happens to be a patriotic soldier.
